This work is part of an ongoing series of paintings inspired by setting of this text, from the ‘Requiem Mass for the Dead’, to music. Three panels make up this entire image, and can arranged in a variety of combinations. Here, the text is shown in a vertical arrangement (i.e. panels stacked one above the other). In Latin the text reads: ‘Requiem aeternam Dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis’ (English: ‘Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them’).
