The text in this painting is taken from the key sections of the Latin Mass: Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei, Amen. The lettering was stacked in vertical arrangements to resemble the twin towers of New York’s World Trade Centre, to commemorate the tragedy that befell this complex.

Interestingly perhaps, the typeface for the initial layout was gleaned from photocopies of individual letters cut out from English tabloid newspaper headlines, and collaged together to form this composition, from which the final work was traced and painted.
