The text in this painting is summarized and edited from the opening pages of Genesis: God created the world. In this work, the account of the days of creation is treated as if one panel is equivalent to a space on a calendar in which the activity for that day is written. From the abstract, formlessness of the base, the painting works towards the apex; the final day in which God declares a day of rest and a sense of accomplishment.
