The text in this painting is taken from the key sections of the Latin Mass: Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei, Amen. Inspired by choral settings of the text, the goal was to give these important words a lyrical, almost dance-like feeling. At the same time, patterns from Arabic architecture were incorporated, to create an image that represents a blending of elements from two different cultures
