At one of the Auschwitz concentration camps there is a brick wall between two tenement-like buildings, forming a cul-de-sac. Against this wall prisoners were executed by Nazi firing squads. Prisoners were brought from their cells in the adjoining buildings. This painting is a memorial to these victims.
