This painting investigates the incorporation of letters of the alphabet in an imaginary environment. Urban environments, such as old industrial sites or public monuments, are full of weathered text: lettering that has been corroded by the atmosphere or just aged. These are a frequent inspiration in my work and were in the back of my mind when this painting was created, using random stenciled letters.
